Bank of the Philippine Islands and Globe Telecom treated the Bacolod media with a party in its Media Appreciation Night held at the L Fisher Chalet Rooftop last October 24, 2014. It was a Christmas in October celebration because BPI and Globe were not able to have a Christmas party for the media last year because of their relief activities in Typhoon Yolanda affected areas.
Present during the event were executives of BPI and Globe who flew in from Manila as well as their counterparts in Bacolod. Members of the Negrense Blogging Society, Inc. were privileged to be invited to the event together with the local broadcast and print media.
BPI took the opportunity to give a financial wellness talk to the media courtesy of Ms Leah del Castillo of. Personally, it was a gentle reminder for me to review my financial status and take action. On the other hand, Ms. Yolanda Crisanto, Head of Corporate Communications of Globe Telecom, apprised us on the latest news with the company. Globe is leading in terms of LTE download and latency according to a report by OpenSignal. In addition, interested subscribers can now pre-register for iPhone6 and iPhone6 plus through its pre-registration portal.
A sumptuous buffet dinner followed while a live acoustic band provided entertainment. After everybody had their fill of the sumptuous dinner, parlor games followed. But real fun started when the two companies raffled off special prizes which include travel bags, cash cards, and gift packs. Globe raffled off gadgets (Samsung S Duos, iPad Mini, Samsung S5) while BPI surprised us when they raffled off cash prizes (20K, 30K, 50K) for those with BPI accounts.
It was indeed a great event where everybody had fun, enjoyed the camaraderie, and nobody went home empty-handed.
