Calea at Balay Quince: Bigger and Sleeker

Calea recently transferred from Lourdes Building to Balay Quince just across L’Fisher Hotel along Lacson St., Bacolod City. The new location is bigger and with a sleeker interior. Free WiFi is also available courtesy of Balay Quince.

It’s a Monday when we went there but you’d think it’s already a weekend based on the number of people at the new Calea at Balay Quince. The place is literally overflowing with people. Some have to wait for a several minutes for others to leave their table.

Negros Occidental is known as the sugar capital of the Philippines so there’s an abundance of cakes and pastry shops in Bacolod City. No doubt, Calea is Bacolod’s most famous pastry shop and going to Bacolod without trying out Calea if you’re a first time visitor would not be a complete experience.

Some of their famous cakes and my personal favorites too, are the blueberry cheesecake, imported chocolate cake and white chocolate cheesecake. Calea uses premium ingredients which is obvious in every bite of their uber yummy cakes.

The cakes are mouthwatering and indulging. Nevermind the calories. It’s a guilt trip you’d love to take. Get into the sugar rush at Calea Pastries & Coffee at Balay Quince. For those who want to avoid the crowd at Balay Quince, you may opt for Calea’s original location at L’Fisher Hotel. They also have a branch at Robinsons Place Bacolod.
