Today, when most fashion accessories are products of mass production, it’s very refreshing to note that a young Negrense can create handcrafted fashion art pieces. Crafted Fantasies by Alexandra “Alex” Anuales is the first, if not the only company which produces polymer clay jewelry in Bacolod. Alex designs the jewelry, painstakingly creates by hand every stunning piece of wearable art.
Alex started working on beads as a hobby while still a college student. Then in 2008, she decided to make it into a business and joined the Association of Negros Producers (ANP). Through the association, she gets to hone her business skills through various trainings and seminars. She has also gained a lot of exposure by joining trade fairs.
Her designs are a product of her whimsical nature and as a self-confessed “inta“, she knows what appeals to the taste of her fanciful clients. There are other companies which started creating polymer clay products but she is not threatened. Alex is confident of her products’ quality and the originality of her designs. She also welcomes her clients own designs.
The young entrepreneur/artist also shares her talent to others by teaching classes on beadworks and polymer clay jewelry. She gains a lot of satisfaction by teaching others her craft and if they eventually start their own business.
