It's More Fun at MassKara Night Market

The MassKara Night Market is organized by Brilyante Network for the MassKara Festival and it first opened last October 5, 2013 at the Negros Weekend Market. Brilyante Network is composed of individuals and private organizations in support of the 75th charter celebration of Bacolod City.

We arrived early at so some of the kiosks were not yet ready which gave me time to go around the place since it was my first time at the Negros Farmers Weekend Market. Visitors started arriving in small groups at around 7PM and the smell of Bacolod chicken inasal still on the grill whetted the appetite of those present.

Just Clean Fun at the MassKara Night Market

Aside from the quintessential Bacolod chicken inasal, there were also sausages, Korean food, Organic Food, Curry Dishes, and of course with cocktails and beers. Masks, shirts, and mugs can also be bought for souvenirs. And just in case the cocktails are not enough to soothe your nerves, there are blind masseurs to give you a back and foot massage. Generally, it’s pure clean fun at the MassKara Night Market. There was a slight glitch since the band failed to start early due to technical problems but hopefully this will not happen again on October 12.

Notables Noted at the MassKara Night Market

Having fun with the Brilyante Network. From left: Nestor Gargarita, Arnel Sigue, Councilor Jocelle Batapa-Sigue, Maricar Dabao, Darlene Custodio, Elsie Gonzaga, Betsy Locsin and yours truly.

The dedication of the Brilyante members was truly admirable. They were all full of energy throughout the night! I have to mention the birthday celebrators who also made me feel like it was my birthday too. Darlene Casiano who was celebrating her birthday was there to sell her newly perfected recipes of Bolgogi, kimchi and siomai. The bestselling curry dishes from The Curry Pot were cooked no less than our Honorable Councilor Jocelle Batapa-Sigue whose husband, Atty. Arnel Sigue, was also celebrating his birthday that night.  Mayor Monico Puentevella and some of city councilors also took time in dropping by the MassKara Night Market.
