Tiffany's Confections: Bacolod's Sweet Hideaway

Tiffany Yapjoco of Tiffany’s Confections in Bacolod finally made a lot of her loyal customers happy when they finally opened their coffee and pastry shop on February 5, 2014 at #6 8th Lacson Street, Bacolod City.

Tiffany’s little nook is nestled among ancestral houses along the street in between Chowking and Chicken Deli in Lacson St. This is where she bakes and where customers pick up their orders. The design was very charming and the location is perfect for those who want a quiet place, away from the crowd of Lacson Street but still very accessible. There are only a few tables which can seat a small group and tables for two, al fresco.  The kitchen is visible to the customers so you can see Tiffany bake her cakes and pastries.  You can stay connected too since they have free WiFi internet.

Simply Charming, like those you see in Pinterest.

Tiffany has a degree in Hospitality Management and although she started baking at a young age, took up baking classes in Manila to hone her skills. Tiffany came from an enterprising family who also loves food but more than that, she’s also very hardworking. You can really see how passionate she is in her craft and she also wants to help our local producers by using local ingredients.

A lot of sweet-toothed Bacolenos will be happy with Tiffany’s Confections, Bacolod’s newest sweet hideaway. It’s not crowded nor noisy, ideal for small groups or if you just want to be alone with your tablet or a book.

We had a chance to be invited to a pre-opening sampling and below are some of their products which go well with brewed coffee. Mind you, the coffee is really good too.

Kalamunding Bars. This is one of the store’s best-sellers and I understand why. It’s very refreshing and I love that it uses local ingredients. Calamansi abounds locally but ironically, it’s not commonly used in local pastry shops.
Carrot Walnut Cake. This is one of the best carrot cakes I’ve tasted so far.
Kahlua Truffle Brownies. I love its rich chocolate flavor and it’s also not too sweet.
Caramel Creampuff. I love how the filling sort of explodes in your mouth when you take a bite.
Mango Cheesecake. Move over Blueberry Cheesecake, Mango Cheesecake is going to be the next darling of sugarlandia Bacolod. Tiffay’s Mango Cheesecake is made with fresh mangoes.
