How to activate GrabPay
- If you don’t have the Grab app yet, go to Play Store, download and install Grab app. If you already have Grab app, go to Play Store and check if you need to update the app. If all is good, open the Grab app.
- Tap on ‘Payment’ on the bottom navigation bar or on your GrabPay balance on the upper left side of your screen
- Tap on ‘Activate your GrabPay Wallet’
- Enter your legal name as shown on your ID, nationality, date of birth, and country of birth
- Select your ID type and enter your ID number
- Enter your current home address
Congratulations! You’ve unlocked your Basic GrabPay Wallet! The next next step is to cash-in your GrabPay wallet.
Methods to Cash-In your GrabPay Wallet
- E-wallets. Cash-in from your GCash or PayMaya app
- Online Banking. Go to your bank’s app to cash-in
- Linked Bank Account. This is by far the fastest method. Link your account once for a seamless transaction.
- Credit Cards. Use your Visa, Mastercard and other cards to cash-in.
- In-Store. Go to 7-Eleven, SM Business Center and Cebuana to cash-in.

GrabCar is now back in Bacolod so we can enjoy safer mobility. However, no cash transaction is allowed but only thrugh GrabPay payments. However, there’s a feature in GrabPay where you can cash in yout GrabPay through the Driver.
Below are instructions on how to use the ‘Cash in with Driver’ feature of GrabPay.
- Tap GrabCar in your Grab app
- Set your pick-up and drop-off points
- Tap the GrabPay Balance
- Tap ‘Cash in with Driver’
- Tap Book GrabCar
- Hand-in cash to the Driver. Make sure to use the tray for contactless payment.
