There is an unending debate of whether or not to legalize all forms of gambling in the Philippines. The majority of Filipinos are Catholics, which consider gambling a sin. Still though, a lot of Filipinos are still fond of gambling. Some forms of gambling are considered illegal like Jai Alai and Jueteng, yet people still play. You can say “gambling is more fun in the Philippines.” Filipino gamblers usually have a penchant on betting on fighting animals despite protests from animal rights groups. Fiesta celebrations would often include events such as cock fighting, carabao fighting, etc. Card games and mahjong are also a common pastime among Filipino gamblers.
