The 5th Negros Island Organic farmers Festival, one of the most awaited organic events of the year opened yesterday at the Organic na Negros! Market at the back of the provincial capitol. The atmosphere was very festive with folk music at the background as organic enthusiasts went around the different booths.
Various certified organic products were on sale like rice, coffee, herbs, vegetables, processed foods, etc. I wasn’t able to resist buying myself. I bought black rice and several herbs for my garden. In addition, there were also booths on agri-tourism and health and wellness.

Viaje Negrense of my friend Maricar Dabao made a debut at the festival which now include agri-tours in the list of suggested tours in Negros. Simultaneous symposia and cooking demo were likewise held at the Social Hall of the provincial capitol.
The newly renovated Organic na Negros! Market was also inaugurated and the new cafeteria was a far cry from the rundown building a few months ago. I am already looking forward to the organic fruit mix which I’m sure a lot of people already miss.
The Negros Organic Farmers Festival will be until December 4 so don’t miss to visit them at the Organic na Negros! Market and you may also attend the various activities at the organic festival.
