Before your imagination run wild, I was only referring to L’Fisher Chalet‘s restaurant at the roofdeck. L’Fisher’s Marketing Executive Imelda Tinsay-Bringas invited Team Tikim and ExperienceNegros for an early dinner to try their new menu. I have a very tight schedule that day but I just couldn’t say no to Imelda and Team Tikim. Besides, Chalet roofdeck has an excellent view of Bacolod City’s main street and port area.
I called in my photographer buddy Anton Manso to join us. Anton and I are active members of the Skyscrapercity forum and we have entertained friends from other provinces at the Chalet roofdeck in the past. It never failed to impress them. This time we’ll see if the change in menu will be as impressive.
I was surprised with the feast that greeted me when I arrived. Chalet’s Chef Pancho Bringas and Asst. Exec. Sous Chef George Gorriceta prepared eight dishes for us to try. I was having a hard time deciding which to try first from the array of food … Vietnamese Spring Rolls, Thai Crispy Mangrove Snapper, Beef Angus Sisig, Salpicado, Army Navy Clubhouse Sandwich, Angus Beef Tapa, Linguini with Meatballs and Thai Pizza.
I finally decided on the Thai Pizza. The thin-crust pizza has grilled chicken and bell peppers and it was true to itself as being Thai – you can taste the sate sauce in each bite. The Thai Crispy Mangrove Snapper was placed on the platter in such a way that it looked like it’s still swimming. It was fried to perfection however, we think the sauce didn’t do justice to it as it did not enhance the taste of the fish. I next tried the Vietnamese Spring Rolls stuffed with vermicelli. It was really good and can be quite filling too.
The Army Navy Clubhouse sandwich was served on a layer of light cheese sauce. Not your usual clubhouse sandwich but aside from the cheese sauce, it’s your good old trusty clubhouse. You also wouldn’t go wrong with the Linguini with Meatballs.
What I love that evening were the beef dishes. The Angus Beef Tapa was slightly sweet, in order to suit the Negrense taste buds. This is perfect for breakfast with egg, garlic rice and coffee. The Salpicado which is also served with rice and green salad siding was a sure hit. However, the best dish of the evening was the Beef Angus Sisig. It’s a new twist to the usual pork sisig but still perfect as pulutan or eaten with rice. The beef was crisp, slightly spicy and flavorful. If I did not save it for last, my Team Tikim buddies would have been in danger of losing their share.
All in all, it’s been a big improvement on their past menu. They used to have mostly Filipino dishes which leave customers looking for more variety. The price range is still the same but the view and the ambiance on top of L’Fisher Chalet is well worth it. They also have weekly themed buffet which are reasonably priced.
So, see you on top?

Thanks my friend! Connoisseur? Nah, I’m so far down the road yet. I will get there probably when I’m 50 when I’m already fat from all the delicious food I consumed. 😀
